Paul Jones

Paul V. Jones, BS, WFR

Paul first moved to Utah from Arizona in 2001. Although he was fiercely proud of his home state, it was love at first sight. At every opportunity, Paul seeks out long backpacking trips and opportunities for flyfishing, skiing, and photography. He also enjoys tracking down history in the form of ghost towns, abandoned mines, and archaeological sites. Paul recently graduated from Brigham Young University; he is currently pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry.

John C. Jones

John C. Jones, MD, AWLS

Dr. Jones is an avid outdoor enthusiast born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He moved to Utah in the late 90's in pursuit of an MD at the University of Utah. He is currently completing a medical residency in Denver, but he secretly pines for the Utah wilderness. Dr. Jones is certified in Advanced Wilderness Life Support, and has worked as curriculum director and instructor for Wilderness Medicine of Utah. His other specialties include outdoor gear, cartography, and photography.

Mark Perkins

Mark E. Perkins, BS, WFR

Mark currently works for a consulting firm in Alpine, UT. He enjoys entrepreneurial ventures, real estate, traveling, and anything to do with the outdoors. He pursues adventure through abandoned mine exploration, snowsports, flyfishing, scuba diving, treasure hunting, and backpacking to remote areas. He also enjoys target shooting, archery, and rifle hunting. Nothing is more appealing to him than an adventurous experience.

Troy K. Flake

Troy K. Flake, JD

Troy is a long-time Utah resident, currently living and working outside the state. He tries to get back at every possible opportunity. As an editor, Troy contributes his considerable knowledge of Utah's places and history. As a lawyer, he ensures that we don't run afoul of the law. Besides legislation, Troy's others specialties include target shooting and horses.
